IDEA

A spot at home where we hang out with family and friends, eat together, discuss things or share experiences is table. Therefore we do our best to make our guests feel comfortable. We use decorations to create a warm and cosy atmosphere. On our table there usually are items which are in common use, such as dishes, cutlery, wine opener or salt cellar.

They seem to be prosaic objects, unless they have been given by someone close. They have a special meaning then. Whenever we use them we have smile on our faces, because we remember who gave them to us.

This is where the project idea came from.

INSPIRATION

I wanted to give the product kind of a polish regional touch, where hospitality and friendliness are crucial. That is why I have followed my very first thought that came across my mind – the product form must have something from characteristic architecture of a polish mountain house. When it is being searched in the internet, a common feature can be easily seen – triangular shape of roofs. That was perfect!

Summing everything up, I wanted to design a product that primarily is functional, decorative and can be used as an everyday table accessory.

Something that will work either as a gift or even regional souvenir.

That is how Mieszko napkin holder was created.

VALUE

Innovativeness of Mieszko is based on adding a small storage space especially for toothpicks. It also will be fine for tips if Mieszko would be placed in restaurants. And you can also reflect the mood of your dining room by any napkins you want.
